Welcome to Peel ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a positive experience while playing the Peel Connection Game ("the App"). Peel is designed to be a private and intimate experience. We aim to collect the absolute minimum amount of data necessary to provide the service.

  • No Personally Identifiable Information (PII) Required: We do not require you to provide your real name, email address, phone number, or social media accounts to play the game.

  • User-Provided Data: The only text you explicitly provide is a "Nickname" (which can be a randomly generated thematic name or one you type yourself).

  • Gameplay Data: To facilitate the game, we temporarily store the state of the "Room" you are in, which includes the category, spice level, language, and the current active question cards. We also track basic statistics attached to your anonymous profile, such as the number of questions you have "Asked" or "Skipped," and a short history of the recent questions displayed to you. Note: We only track the text of the questions generated; the App does not record, transcribe, or save your real-life verbal answers or conversations.

  • Automatically Collected Data: We use Firebase Authentication to generate an anonymous User ID when you open the App. This allows us to save your gameplay statistics to your device and our cloud database without knowing who you are.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • To Provide and Maintain the App: Allowing you to host or join real-time synchronized rooms with other players.

  • To Generate Dynamic Content: We send your room's settings (Language, Category, Mode) and a short history of recent questions to our Artificial Intelligence provider to generate new, unique conversation starter cards that do not repeat.

  • To Track Gameplay Statistics: Allowing you to view your "Connection Depth" and engagement history within the app.

4. Third-Party Services

The App utilizes third-party services that may collect information used to identify your device or provide core infrastructure.

  • Google Analytics / Firebase: We use Firebase (provided by Google) for anonymous user authentication and real-time database hosting (Firestore). Firebase securely synchronizes the game state across player devices. You can view Google's Privacy Policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy

  • Google Gemini API (Generative AI): To generate the game's questions, we use Google's Gemini API. We send specific prompts (including the chosen category, spice level, and recent question history) to this API. No personal identifiers are sent to the AI model.

5. Data Security and Retention

We value your trust in providing us with your data and use commercially acceptable means of protecting it.

  • All data transmitted between your device and our databases (Firebase) is encrypted in transit.

  • Because accounts are primarily anonymous, data is tied to the installation of the App on your device.

  • Game "Rooms" are temporary and data within them may be periodically purged when no longer active.

6. Children's Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so that we will be able to take necessary actions.

7. Your Rights and Data Deletion

Because your account is completely anonymous and tied to your device installation, you can effectively delete your local data and sever your connection to your anonymous profile simply by uninstalling the App or clearing the App's data from your device settings.

If you wish to request the manual deletion of your anonymous Firebase ID and associated statistics from our servers, please contact us with your specific User ID (if accessible).

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
